GYSD Food Drive

Global Youth Service Day Food Drive

Lent marks the beginning of our annual Global Youth Service Day food drive!

This year, First Lutheran is collecting 12oz to 16oz bags of egg noodles to be distributed in food baskets by the Beaver Dam Playground Movement. Donations may be placed in the tote in Friendship Hall. We will be collecting through the April 23rd, and our goal is to collect 100 bags!

Egg noodles are used in recipes around the world and can also be an inexpensive way to stretch meals. Kugel is a common Jewish dish generally made with egg noodles, eggs, cottage cheese, and sour cream - kind of like a baked macaroni & cheese.

Different cultures throughout Europe have their own variations of noodle kugel or noodle pudding. Here is a tasty recipe to try.
